Sunchon National University Holds Non-Face-to-Face Entrance Ceremony
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) announced on the 2nd that it held the freshman entrance ceremony online.
Suncheon National University filmed the entrance ceremony event as a video in accordance with social distancing measures due to COVID-19 and released it through the university's official YouTube channel.
At the online entrance ceremony, President Ko Young-jin declared the admission of a total of 2,006 students, including 1,562 freshmen, 139 transfer students, 255 master's graduate students, 43 doctoral students, and 7 integrated master's and doctoral students.
In response, Park Min-hyuk, a representative of the entering students from the College of Education's Korean Language Education Department, pledged, "I will uphold the honor and pride by abiding by the school regulations and diligently devote myself to my studies with responsibility and duty."
In his welcoming speech, President Ko Young-jin said, "Although we have gone through a more difficult time than ever due to COVID-19, I am very pleased to meet as Suncheon National University members, and all members warmly welcome you," adding, "I hope you build your own expertise through passionate time at Suncheon National University, grow into creative talents who think more broadly and see further, and walk the path of success as wonderful young people who contribute to the region and the nation."

Meanwhile, to ease the disappointment of the online entrance ceremony, Suncheon National University set up a photo zone in front of the 70th Anniversary Hall on campus during the first week, providing freshmen with an opportunity to leave memories and solidify their aspirations for university life.
