Hwasun-gun Recruiting Students for 'Woodcraft Experience Program'
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 25th that it is recruiting students for the 'Woodcraft Experience Program' to be held until the 15th of next month to revitalize woodcraft and expand the base of the craft industry.
The woodcraft experience program, held at the Wood Culture Experience Center located in the Mohusan area, provides education on basic woodcraft theory and equipment usage by resident artists and external professional instructors, and conducts practical training by making household furniture.
The education period will be held about 100 times over 8 months from next month to October on designated days of the week, with about 950 people able to receive training. Participants will learn to make DIY furniture, household accessories, and cypress cutting boards.
Anyone interested in woodcraft and able to complete the course can apply. The education fee is free according to the operation, but the material cost is 100% borne by the participants.
However, only one work per person can be applied for, and students will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis within the application deadline.

A county official said, "Last year, the woodcraft experience classes were suspended due to social distancing measures following the spread of COVID-19," and added, "This year, the program will be operated flexibly adjusting schedules and the number of participants according to government policies."
