[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 22nd that it will accept applications for the 'Reading Culture Support Project' until the 5th of next month.
This project is divided into two areas: 'Support for Reading Club Activity Expenses' and 'Support for Revitalization of Small Libraries.'
The support for reading club activity expenses is targeted at groups registered as reading clubs in the Gwangsan-gu Integrated Library.
Thirty-five selected clubs will each receive 300,000 KRW for book purchase expenses.
This year, as a pilot project, four clubs practicing social values will also be selected.
These clubs, which combine post-reading activities and talent donation in the local community, will receive up to 1,000,000 KRW for book purchase and material costs.
The support for revitalization of small libraries is a project that supports program expenses, book purchase expenses, and volunteer activity expenses for registered small libraries as of the end of last year, divided into four categories: two community libraries, one specialized library, 25 customized libraries, and four reading clubs.
When applying for reading clubs, applicants can also apply for the other three categories simultaneously.
Detailed information can be found in the 'Announcements' section on the Gwangsan-gu website, and guidance is provided by the Gwangsan-gu Library Division.
