Yangsan-si Promotes 'Cool Roof' Support Project... Total Support of 8.25 Million Won
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 19th that it will carry out a 'Cool Roof' support project that has the effect of saving cooling costs.
Cool Roof is a method of applying a bright-colored coating with reflective and waterproof effects on the roof to reflect and radiate sunlight, reducing heat accumulation on the roof and thereby decreasing heat transfer inside the building.
The support target is aged detached houses. Subsidies are provided differentially based on the cost difference between rooftop waterproofing work and Cool Roof construction, with up to 1.5 million KRW for socially vulnerable households and up to 750,000 KRW for general households.
Applications for the project are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting today at the Climate and Environment Division of Yangsan City and the local administrative welfare centers. Building owners who wish to have the construction done can apply after selecting a waterproof coating company.
If the tenant is socially vulnerable, the applicant must submit a recipient certificate and lease contract with the tenant's consent. According to internal regulations, two socially vulnerable households will be selected for support.
