(CEO Kim Dong-wook) on February 17 to promote mutual exchange and development.
The agreement ceremony held in the morning at the Seokdang Culture Hall of the university was attended by eight officials from both organizations, including Dong-Eui Institute of Technology President Kim Young-do, Industry-Academic Cooperation Director Ko Seok-jo, Future Lifelong Education Project Director Kim Tae-kyung, Future Convergence Department Head Lee Moon-jo, Golden Blue Vice Chairman Choi Yong-seok, Operations Management Director Jung Byung-sun, and Human Resources Team Leader Woo Sung-hyun.
According to the agreement, from the 2021 academic year, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology and Golden Blue Co., Ltd. will operate a practical training course to foster professionals aimed at revitalizing the domestic brewing market and leading a healthy alcoholic beverage culture.
This is an extension of the ‘Master Blender Development Project,’ a scholarship support program that Golden Blue has been implementing since 2016 to advance the domestic alcoholic beverage industry.
Starting from the 2021 academic year, Golden Blue will select two scholarship students to support the professional associate degree course in Brewing and Fermentation at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology’s Future Convergence Department.
They will support the development of curricula focused on fieldwork experience gained through practical work, including scholarships, and jointly manage professional personnel to nurture talent systematically.
In 2019, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology was the only specialized college in the Busan area selected for the Ministry of Education’s ‘University Lifelong Education System Support Project (LiFE Project),’ establishing four new professional associate degree courses for adult learners, including Brewing and Fermentation.
The Brewing and Fermentation course aims to cultivate brewing professionals equipped with specialized knowledge in fermentation and craft beer manufacturing process management, as well as an entrepreneurial mindset, linked to the brewing and fermentation industry.
The detailed contents of the agreement include ▲ field training and educational support for the Brewing and Fermentation course in the Future Convergence Department ▲ employment support for outstanding graduates ▲ mutual provision of technical information and research data ▲ joint development and implementation of major curricula ▲ joint participation in textbook and curriculum development.
Golden Blue Vice Chairman Choi Yong-seok said, “This industry-academic cooperation agreement with Dong-Eui Institute of Technology will serve as an opportunity to expand the Master Blender Development Project into various alcoholic beverage fields,” adding, “We will do our best to actively utilize the professionals trained at the university in the industrial sector by establishing a symbiotic cooperation system between industry and academia through continuous collaboration.”
