GGM General Staff Recruitment Application Results, 76 to 1 Competition Ratio
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] More than 3,000 applicants flocked to the open recruitment for general entry-level positions at Gwangju Global Motors (GGM), the nation’s first win-win regional job company, resulting in a competition ratio of 76.1 to 1.
According to GGM on the 18th, the open recruitment for 43 general entry-level positions in the Management Support Headquarters, Business Planning Headquarters, Win-Win Safety Office, Production Headquarters, and Quality Management Headquarters received a total of 3,274 applications, recording a high competition ratio of 76.1 to 1.
This far exceeded the 67 to 1 competition ratio for technical entry-level positions, which began last month on the 5th.
GGM interpreted this result as reflecting the difficulties in employment caused by COVID-19 and the lack of quality jobs in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions.
In addition to preferential provisions offered to high school and university graduates or prospective graduates from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions, the high expectations and trust in GGM led to many local talents applying, according to analysis.
To enhance fairness and transparency in the recruitment process, GGM adopted a blind recruitment method and outsourced a series of tasks to a professional recruitment company.
Also, to ensure a fair procedure, an AI competency test was introduced as a mandatory item for all applicants.
GGM plans to announce the final successful candidates at the end of next month after the AI competency test, document screening, and interview process.
Park Kwang-tae, CEO of GGM, said, “Following the recruitment of technical entry-level employees, a large number of talents from Gwangju and Jeonnam also applied for the general entry-level positions. We will continue to do our best to provide quality jobs for local youth with a strong sense of responsibility and mission.”
Meanwhile, GGM has previously selected 162 experienced employees for general and technical positions and is currently conducting open recruitment for 186 technical entry-level employees.
