Gyeongnam Public Interest Direct Payment System, Resident Satisfaction Survey Shows 90.3% Satisfaction Rate
Respondents Indicate Rural Landscape Improvement, Rural Environment Conservation, and Community Restoration as Most Beneficial in Order
Gyeongnam Province achieved a remarkable result with an average satisfaction rate of 90.3% in the village residents' satisfaction survey for the Gyeongnam Public Interest Direct Payment Project.

The Gyeongnam Public Interest Direct Payment Project is a program that implements resident cooperation public interest activities such as preserving the rural ecological environment, improving landscapes, and strengthening communities.
The province conducted a survey on overall satisfaction, understanding of the project, and areas for improvement targeting 500 villages and organizations that implemented the public interest practice program.
The survey results showed an average satisfaction rate of 90.3%, with environmental and landscape improvements at 95%, public interest promotion activities at 90%, and project participation satisfaction at 86%, in that order.
The factors that most influenced the satisfaction of participating residents were rural landscape improvement beneficial to village organizations, rural environment preservation, and community restoration.
Areas needing improvement were identified as diversification of public interest programs and expansion of the project.
Jo Hyunhong, head of the province’s Eco-friendly Agriculture Division, which supervised the survey, said, "This was a good opportunity to confirm the satisfaction level of participating village organizations in the Gyeongnam Public Interest Direct Payment Project, the first of its kind nationwide," adding, "This year, we will do our best to promote the project by enhancing synergy effects through linkage with social innovation collaboration projects, strengthening consulting by social activists, and supplementing improvement suggestions."

Meanwhile, through this project, neglected embankment paths have been transformed into premium village walking trails, and waste disposal sites have been converted into recycling separation centers, confirming the revitalization of rural areas.
