Since the second semester of 2016, Starbucks has signed an academic exchange cooperation agreement with Hanyang Cyber University to support Starbucks partners without a bachelor's degree, such as those with associate degrees or high school diplomas, in obtaining a four-year bachelor's degree. Including 41 graduates in February this year, a total of 112 partners have obtained bachelor's degrees through this program to date.
The participation of partners who wish to balance work and study is continuously increasing. As of the second semester of 2020, a total of 468 partners are enrolled across 34 departments, and 160 new and transfer students are preparing to enroll for the first semester of 2021.
Looking at the enrollment rates by Starbucks position, 26% are baristas, 54% supervisors, and 20% are assistant store managers or higher, showing participation in the bachelor's degree support program across various positions.
Starbucks partners admitted to Hanyang Cyber University receive full tuition support for their first semester, and from the second semester onward, if they achieve an average grade of B or higher, they can receive full tuition support through the 'Starbucks Scholarship.'
