Ministry of Justice Secretary Resigns Within Two Months
"Evidence Against Prosecutor General Yoon Cannot Be Hidden"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the 17th, the People Power Party criticized the government over Shin Hyun-soo, the Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs at the Blue House, expressing his intention to resign, saying, "Who is the real Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs of this administration, Shin Hyun-soo or former Senior Secretary Cho Kuk?"
Kim Eun-hye, spokesperson for the People Power Party, released a statement on the day, saying, "The controversy over the first prosecution personnel appointment by Minister of Justice Park Beom-gye has led to the resignation announcement of Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs Shin Hyun-soo, who was appointed less than two months ago," and added, "How could he have endured the abuse of power disguised as prosecution reform?"
Spokesperson Kim continued, "He pretended to gracefully accept Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl's intentions, but it was all just words," and pointed out, "He deceived the public again."
She also criticized, "The Moon Jae-in administration's hatred toward Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl cannot be hidden no matter how much they try," and said, "The suspicion of election interference in Ulsan mayoral election by the 'President's friend,' with no trial held even after more than a year since indictment, the power struggle inside the palace to block the investigation into the manipulation of Wolseong's economic feasibility that started with the 'President's words,' and the conspiracy of villains are disgraceful to behold."
Regarding the suspicion that a 'Cho Kuk line' secretary, bypassing the Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs, received presidential approval for prosecution personnel appointments, she said, "It's a collusion unseen even in the marketplace."
Spokesperson Kim said, "Rather, the Blue House should take off its mask and call back former Minister Cho Kuk as the Senior Secretary for Civil Affairs."
