This report is the result of a research project conducted to establish a Jeonnam-type university admission strategy in response to the Ministry of Education's announcement on strengthening fairness in the university admission system, and to prepare measures to activate an experience-centered curriculum operation so that students can develop their talents and aptitudes through the full implementation of the Free Semester System.
The "Research on Jeonnam-type University Admission Response Strategy" analyzed and forecasted university admission screening, investigated and analyzed the support status of educational institutions to strengthen the capabilities of high schools in the Jeonnam region, and surveyed the awareness of those involved in university admissions.
In particular, to strengthen the university admission screening response capabilities of Jeonnam high school students, the report includes providing teachers with university admission guidance programs and teacher training programs, and offering students career education and programs to enhance their CSAT (College Scholastic Ability Test) capabilities.
The "Research on Career Experience Activation Plan" analyzed the current status of career education and career experience in Jeonnam in connection with the Free Semester System, domestic cases of Free Semester System operation, and the current status and conditions of its operation in Jeonnam.
As activation measures, it includes the community's joint effort to consider students' futures, budget support for student career exploration by related Jeonnam institutions, and the enactment of ordinances supporting the Free Semester System.
Assemblyman Lee Hyuk-je said, "We are preparing an ordinance to support the Free Semester System so that students can have various experiences," and added, "I hope this report will help design necessary programs to strengthen students' and parents' career and university admission screening response capabilities."
Meanwhile, the "Visiting Jeonnam Education Policy Research Group" is actively engaged in visiting forums and research projects to seek future development plans for Jeonnam education and propose legislative alternatives for demand-oriented educational development.
