A CCTV monitoring officer noticed the man wandering around a residential area in Jungang-dong, Seongsan-gu, during the quiet early morning hours, trying door handles of vehicles parked along the roadside, and immediately reported it to 112.
The officer provided the police, who were dispatched after tracking the suspect's movements, with the information, which greatly contributed to protecting citizens' property, earning a commendation from the Chief of Changwon Jungbu Police Station.
The Changwon City CCTV Integrated Control Center monitors 7,245 CCTV cameras within the jurisdiction in real time with 48 monitoring officers, and this year has successfully apprehended suspects in three car break-in cases.
