SKT Partners with SC Jeil Bank to Build MyData Cloud
[Asia Economy Reporter Seolgina Jo] SK Telecom, together with SC First Bank, is launching the first-ever 'MyData Cloud' in the primary financial sector.
According to SK Telecom on the 16th, the two companies signed a contract earlier this month to build a dedicated MyData cloud. SK Telecom will establish a storage system within SC First Bank's cloud to hold MyData, personal asset management data, and solution analysis result data. In collaboration with Bespin Global and Microsoft (MS), the cloud will be built on MS Azure, with plans to open the MyData service by the end of July.
Specifically, SC First Bank will build 'cloud infrastructure,' 'MyData analysis systems,' and 'MyData API data lakes' to enable efficient collection and analysis of personal information, thereby providing innovative services. Additionally, SK Telecom will support SC First Bank in complying with cloud compliance within the cloud environment. By the end of October, mobile banking will be upgraded to allow MyData cloud users to actively manage their information and utilize various services such as credit management and asset management.
In particular, SK Telecom plans to solidify its position in the domestic cloud industry through this MyData cloud construction project targeting the primary financial sector. Starting with this project, SK Telecom will actively collaborate on data partnerships with financial sector partners including SC First Bank and expand the 5GX MEC (Mobile Edge Cloud) ecosystem.
Currently, SK Telecom is collaborating with global cloud service providers Amazon Web Services (AWS) and MS based on world-class MEC and network technologies. Furthermore, in partnership with Bespin Global, the industry's top cloud consulting firm, SK Telecom provides integrated services from multi- and hybrid-cloud adoption to operation. Bespin Global is the only Asian cloud company listed in the 'Leader' quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant, recognized globally for its technological capabilities.
SK Telecom gained significant attention last December by commercializing the first 5G edge cloud service in Korea with AWS. In October last year, it also launched an AI-based 'Cloud Anomaly Cost Detection Solution (Next-generation CMP Cloud Management Platform)' together with Bespin Global. Starting this year, SK Telecom is actively promoting six major cloud businesses including AI Contact Center (AICC) and cloud SaaS, aiming to become an innovation partner for enterprises through the convergence of 5G and cloud.
