Hamyang-gun Decides on Social Distancing Level 1.5
Restaurant and Cafe Operating Hours Lifted, Entertainment Venues Allowed to Operate Until 10 PM
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that it will lower the social distancing level to 1.5, considering the difficulties of the local economy and the new occurrence situation, to prevent and contain the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and implement it for two weeks from the 15th to the 28th.
The main changes include lifting the operating hour restrictions for multi-use facilities (both key and general management) such as restaurants, cafes, singing practice rooms, and indoor sports facilities, changing the gathering restrictions for six types of entertainment facilities to allow operation until 10 PM, and relaxing the occupancy limit at wedding halls and funeral halls to one person per 4㎡ of facility area.
This decision prioritizes autonomy and responsibility while aiming to revitalize the local economy. However, since precise participation in quarantine is essential, strong sanctions will follow if quarantine rules are violated.
For businesses violating social distancing quarantine rules, strong measures such as a two-week ban on gatherings (administrative orders) will be enforced in addition to fines, and claims for compensation will also be strongly pursued.
