East Sea Coast Guard Searches for Missing Fisherman in His 60s During Fishing Operation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] The Donghae Maritime Police in Gangwon announced on the 14th that they are searching for a fisherman in his 60s who went out to fish alone and lost contact.
According to the Donghae Maritime Police, at around 6:54 a.m. that day, Captain B of vessel A set out alone for fishing, but when he did not return past the expected arrival time, another fishing boat captain reported it.
In response, the Donghae Maritime Police dispatched nearby patrol vessels, coastal rescue boats, the Donghae Special Rescue Team, and special forces to the location where vessel A was last known to be. The police confirmed vessel A at the coastal rescue boat of the Imwon Police Substation, which arrived earlier, but found that the captain was not on board and are currently searching the surrounding area.
