As of 6 PM, Seoul reports a provisional total of 120 new COVID-19 cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] From midnight to 6 p.m. on the 12th, the number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul was tentatively counted at 120 over 18 hours.
According to Seoul City, this is slightly lower compared to 125 cases on the same time frame the previous day (11th) and 126 cases a week earlier (5th). The total number of new cases for the entire day was 158 on the 11th and 143 on the 5th.
From the 1st to the 11th of this month, the daily new cases in Seoul recorded 128→188→172→126→143→144→112→90→175→183→158, showing significant fluctuations like a roller coaster.
Recently, the daily number of tests in Seoul showed an increasing trend with 31,639 on the 8th, 33,140 on the 9th, and 35,587 on the 10th, but sharply decreased to 18,224 on the first day of the holiday, the 11th. Accordingly, the total number of cases on the 12th is likely to be affected by the decrease in tests on the 11th. The average daily number of tests in Seoul over the past fifteen days (January 28 to February 11) was 24,526.
