Gyeongbuk Yeongcheon-si to Provide 100,000 Won Prepaid Cards to All Citizens
Intensive Distribution Period Until the 10th... Residents Who Did Not Apply Can Receive Until the End of June
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Yeongcheon City, Gyeongbuk Province (Mayor Choi Ki-moon) announced on the 10th that as of the 9th, six days after starting the second round of Yeongcheon-type disaster relief fund distribution on the 4th, 91% of citizens have received the funds.
Yeongcheon City set the distribution period until the 10th and is providing 100,000 KRW per person via prepaid cards. As of the 9th, out of 101,044 eligible recipients, 92,052 people, or 91%, have received the support funds. The total amount distributed reaches 9.2 billion KRW.
Yeongcheon City has deployed 784 dedicated personnel to 339 locations including administrative welfare centers, apartments, and senior centers for concentrated distribution. For residents with mobility difficulties, a 'visiting application service' system is in operation.
Residents who have not yet applied for the disaster relief fund can apply and receive it at the eup, myeon, and dong administrative welfare centers until June 30.

Mayor Choi Ki-moon stated, "We hope that the prompt distribution of the disaster relief funds will serve as a stepping stone for the recovery of the local economy, which has been frozen due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and that all funds will be spent within the deadline to contribute to revitalizing the local economy and stabilizing citizens' livelihoods."
