"Communication Fee and Data Support" SKT Partners with Woongjin ThinkBig for Educational Subscription Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SK Telecom, preparing to transition into an AI-based subscription marketing company, has joined hands with Woongjin ThinkBig, a leader in the smart education market.
On the 8th, SK Telecom announced that it signed a business agreement with Woongjin ThinkBig to promote subscription-based educational products. Through this agreement, the two companies plan to run a promotion offering discounted communication fees and free data to customers who subscribe to the ‘Woongjin Smart All’ product launching on the 15th.
The Woongjin Smart All product, which covers all elementary school subjects, provides content and educational products on a monthly subscription basis. It consists of two options: paying 109,000 KRW per month for 26 months or 99,000 KRW per month for 28 months.
Customers subscribing to this product at SK Telecom’s official certified agencies will receive a monthly support of 19,800 KRW for their children under 12 years old’s mobile phone fees for 12 months starting from the month following the subscription. This is equivalent to using the ZEM Smart Plan (19,800 KRW per month, VAT included), the most popular plan among elementary students, free of charge for one year (up to 237,600 KRW).
Additionally, children customers who apply for a trial through SK Telecom stores or the online T World will receive an extra 500 megabytes (MB) of data per month for three months in a promotion running from the 15th to the 31st of next month. The Woongjin Smart All product can be experienced at SK Telecom’s 330 kids’ hub stores.
Building on this business agreement, the two companies plan to continue various collaborations combining their technologies and content across AI, commerce, media, and other fields. In particular, they aim to create a new communication-learning experience based on customer data by combining their AI capabilities. Discussions are also underway to build an environment where learning is possible anywhere by equipping communication modules in Wi-Fi-based learning devices.
