[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Goyang City in Gyeonggi Province will provide a total of 30 billion KRW in the 'Goyang City 2nd Special Suspension Support Fund.'
On the 4th, Goyang City announced, "To compensate for the special sacrifices of small business owners and to revive the local economy, which has been stagnant due to the Lunar New Year, we have significantly expanded the eligible recipients and support amounts."
The city plans to submit a revised budget to the Goyang City Council and provide support promptly once the budget is approved on the 5th.
The support targets businesses subject to administrative orders for gathering bans and business restrictions, including 5,279 gathering-ban locations and 16,307 business-restricted locations within the jurisdiction, that opened before November 24 of last year and are currently operating as of the announcement date.
However, businesses that violated the administrative orders for gathering bans or business restrictions are excluded from the support.
According to detailed support policies, a budget of 26.9 billion KRW has been allocated to support 21,586 businesses, aiming to provide 1 million KRW per business for restaurants, cafes, beauty salons, PC rooms, amusement parks, bathhouses, movie theaters, and general retail stores (over 300㎡) that are subject to business restrictions.
For five types of entertainment establishments designated as gathering-ban locations (entertainment bars, karaoke bars, emotional bars, hunting pubs, and colatecs), as well as singing practice rooms, holdem pubs, indoor sports facilities, academies and private institutes, and direct sales promotion centers, 2 million KRW per business will be provided.
Corporate taxi drivers who joined before October 1 of last year and are currently working as of the announcement date will receive 500,000 KRW per person, according to the government's 3rd disaster relief fund criteria.
