GS Home Shopping Supports 200 Single-Parent and Low-Income Families with Sharing Kits
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] GS Home Shopping announced on the 29th that it conducted the ‘HAPPY GS SHOP DAY’ project, a sharing kit support program for vulnerable groups, in collaboration with Hope Friends Kia Daechek and the Community Chest of Korea.
This project, meaning ‘giving a day like a birthday as a gift,’ provided support to 200 households including single-parent and grandparent-grandchild families in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi Province; Jecheon-si, Chungbuk; and Damyang-gun, Jeonnam, who are facing difficulties due to COVID-19. Beneficiary families were selected through recommendations from each local government.
The sharing kits were continuously provided three times in total, once a month for three months starting from November last year, to the same beneficiary families. Along with sharing goods worth a total of 400,000 KRW per person, gifts such as encouragement postcards, calendars, and stickers were included in each round to convey support and encouragement.
