Imunhee, Head of North Korea Nuclear Diplomacy Planning Team, Holds Korea-Russia North Korea Nuclear Hotline Talks with Russian Special Envoy
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 27th that Lee Moon-hee, head of the North Korea Nuclear Diplomacy Planning Division, held a telephone consultation on the afternoon of the 26th with Oleg Burmistrov, Russia's Special Envoy for North Korea Nuclear Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the South Korea-Russia deputy representatives for North Korea nuclear issues.
This consultation was the first since the South Korea-Russia deputy representatives' telephone consultation on October 29 of last year.
Both sides shared assessments of recent developments on the Korean Peninsula, including North Korea's 8th Party Congress, and exchanged views on cooperation measures between the two countries to advance the complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of lasting peace.
Director Lee evaluated Russia's efforts to advance the situation on the Korean Peninsula and invited Ambassador Burmistrov to visit South Korea for more in-depth consultations.

Ambassador Burmistrov expressed gratitude for Director Lee's invitation and indicated his intention to visit South Korea as soon as possible. He also emphasized his hope to continue cooperation on Korean Peninsula issues at international forums such as the United Nations in the future.
