View original imageOn the 21st, Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said on Facebook in the morning, "Korea and the United States will continue to move forward together unwaveringly for peace and prosperity on the Korean Peninsula."
Leader Lee Nak-yeon stated, "I highly appreciate President Biden's outstanding leadership in diplomacy and politics so far," and emphasized, "I have no doubt that his diplomatic leadership will greatly contribute to stability and peace on the Korean Peninsula."
He continued, "The Korean people will always stand with President Biden in the process of achieving denuclearization and peace on the Korean Peninsula based on the historic North Korea-US Singapore Agreement," and added, "Congratulations on your inauguration."
Regarding the Korea-US alliance, Leader Lee said, "It will develop even further toward the future," and added, "I hope that with long experience, wisdom, and leadership of unity, the United States will lead as one and bring peace to the world."
Kim Tae-nyeon, floor leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said at a policy coordination meeting held at the National Assembly on the same day, "If the Moon Jae-in-Biden administration learns from the partnership between the Kim Dae-jung and Clinton administrations in the past, it will find wisdom to restart the peace process on the Korean Peninsula," and added, "We must quickly establish a virtuous cycle relationship."
Floor Leader Kim emphasized, "High-level personnel exchanges should be promoted early, and strong Korea-US cooperation must be implemented to build a new Northeast Asia peace order."
Song Young-gil, chairman of the National Assembly Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee and member of the Democratic Party of Korea, focused on eco-friendly policies. Song said on Facebook that day, "As President Biden himself claimed, I hope the United States can become a clean energy superpower and create a turning point to make America great again."
He added, "(Biden) declared that climate change policies will be reflected in all US diplomatic policies, national security policies, and trade policies," and predicted, "It is expected that he will convene a climate change summit to request cooperation."
