Joo Ho-young: "Another Lie to Cover Up Kim Hak-ui's Illegal Departure"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 18th, Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the People Power Party, criticized the allegations of 'illegal travel ban' against former Deputy Minister of Justice Kim Hak-ui, saying, "It is a matter of admitting the wrongdoing, apologizing sincerely, and accepting punishment," and added, "They are resorting to another lie to cover up the allegations."
At the emergency countermeasure committee meeting that day, Floor Leader Joo said, "It was confirmed that the case number on the travel ban request was entered into the computer system only 12 hours after the travel ban was executed, and even that was fake," and added, "There are traces suggesting that the government, recognizing the illegality of the travel ban and unable to do anything about it, manipulated the computer system afterward to revise the records."
Floor Leader Joo stated, "Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae said it was unavoidable and went further to say that the travel ban could be imposed by the minister's authority," and questioned, "If it was possible by ministerial authority, why not just do it directly? What was the reason for going through such a complicated process?"
