Hong Kong Extends 'Suspension of In-Person Classes' for One More Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Hong Kong has extended the suspension of in-person classes for another month due to the fourth wave of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Kevin Yeung, Hong Kong's Secretary for Education, announced at a briefing on the 4th that the suspension period, originally set to end on the 10th, will be extended by one more month until the Lunar New Year holiday starting on the 12th of next month.
Earlier, as the daily new COVID-19 cases in Hong Kong exceeded 100 again and the momentum of the fourth wave did not subside, all kindergartens and primary and secondary schools suspended in-person classes entirely from the 2nd of last month.
