Gimcheon-si Awarded 'Best Institution' by Ministry of the Interior and Safety for 'Local Tax and Non-Tax Revenue Management' Evaluation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gimcheon City, Gyeongbuk announced on the 4th that it was selected as the 'Best Institution for Non-Tax Revenue Management' in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluation at the end of December 2020.
This Ministry of the Interior and Safety evaluation was conducted targeting 243 local governments nationwide. Eight local governments were selected as either the best or excellent institutions. The best institutions receive a plaque and a special grant of 40 million KRW, while excellent institutions receive only a plaque.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety has been analyzing and diagnosing the operation performance of local governments' non-tax revenue since 2015, aiming to improve the collection rate of local non-tax revenue, which is lower than that of local taxes. Since 2020, a special government grant of 40 million KRW has been provided only to the best institutions.
