Superintendent Lim Jong-sik Visits Andong Chung Hon Tower for New Year, "Realizing Warm Gyeongbuk Education"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Lim Jong-sik, Superintendent of Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education, visited the Andong Chung-hon Tower with senior officials on the first day of the New Year of the Year of the Ox to commemorate the patriotic martyrs and war heroes and to reaffirm their New Year's resolutions.
The event was held with strict social distancing and quarantine rules, minimizing the number of attendees in consideration of the COVID-19 situation.
Superintendent Lim said, "I visited the Chung-hon Tower as a meaningful start to vigorously realize 'Warm Gyeongbuk Education that Strengthens the Power of Life' this year."

Meanwhile, the Andong Chung-hon Tower, built in June 1965 to coincide with Memorial Day, is a memorial space for war heroes who died in the Korean War. It enshrines the memorial tablets of 1,257 patriotic martyrs from Andong, including military personnel, police officers, and civilians who died during the Korean War.
