Yongsan-gu Namyeong-dong Officer Geumhee Lee Selected by Residents for 'Proud Public Servant Award'
Received Commendation from Resident Autonomy Chairman Lee Gang-cheol... Well-Praised in 5 Areas Including Community Harmony and Kind Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Lee Geum-hee (female, 42), a public officer affiliated with Namyeong-dong Community Service Center in Yongsan-gu, received the '2nd Proud Public Servant Award Selected by Namyeong-dong Residents.'
The award ceremony was held in the community service center's meeting room, attended by five people including Im Han-kyung, head of Namyeong-dong, Lee Geum-hee, and Lee Kang-cheol, chairman of the Namyeong-dong Residents' Autonomy Committee.
Officer Lee joined in 2004 and has worked for 17 years in various departments including the District Autonomous Administration Division, Civil Affairs and Passport Division, District Council, Planning and Budget Division, Hangangno-dong, Culture and Sports Division, Public Relations Officer, and Namyeong-dong. Currently, she handles tasks such as local budget and accounting, management of neighborhood leaders, audits, administrative support, elections, planning and budgeting, autonomous administration, building management, public opinion collection, and citizen commendations.
The Proud Public Servant Award Selected by Namyeong-dong Residents was newly established last year by the Residents' Autonomy Committee. The selection criteria include five categories: resident harmony, courteous service, contribution to group cooperation, length of service, and additional points for civil affairs work.
Officer Lee received high scores across all these categories, earning first place among 18 staff members (excluding the head of the community center).
Officer Lee said, "During my two years working at Namyeong-dong Community Service Center, many good things happened, but I never expected to receive an award from the residents. Since this award was created directly by the residents, it holds even greater meaning."
Lee Kang-cheol, chairman of the Residents' Autonomy Committee, said, "We established the Proud Public Servant Award last year with local organization leaders to express gratitude to the community center staff working hard on the front lines of administration. I extend my congratulations to Officer Lee."
