Hampyeong-gun Selected for a Total of 25 Public Contest Projects This Year... Secures a Budget of 71.4 Billion Won
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 31st that it secured a total budget of 71.4 billion KRW in national and provincial funds through 25 public contest projects from central government ministries, Jeollanam-do, and private institutions this year.
This achievement far surpasses the 36 billion KRW in 2018 and 50.2 billion KRW in 2019, and is attributed to the establishment of the Future Strategy Office, which oversees public contest projects, upon the inauguration of the county governor in May. This office strengthened contest response capabilities by enacting ordinances for contest project management and preparing incentive support systems.
Major public contest projects include the Rural New Vitality Plus Project, Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project, Designation of Priority Management Areas for Sewerage Maintenance, Wolcheon Port Fishing Village New Deal 300 Project, and Regional Specialized Content Development Project. These are expected to greatly contribute to the development of future growth engine industries and improvement of living conditions in the region.
Next year, the county plans to actively challenge public contest projects essential to the region by establishing an organic cooperation system with related organizations such as Jeollanam-do and the Gwangju-Jeonnam Research Institute. It will also strengthen the contest response system by implementing mandatory pre-review of contest projects and providing expert consulting support for contest project planning to increase the selection rate of public contest projects.
