Turkey to Soon Administer Chinese COVID-19 Vaccine... 3 Million Doses Arrive
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] The first batch of Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccines purchased from the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinovac by the Turkish government has arrived locally.
On the 30th (local time), the Turkish Ministry of Health announced that a plane carrying 3 million doses (dose: one injection) of the COVID-19 vaccine landed at Ankara Esenbo?a Airport at around 5:40 a.m. that day.
Fahrettin Koca, the Turkish Minister of Health, announced the arrival of the vaccine on Twitter, stating, "After 14 days of vaccine trials by the authorities, vaccinations will begin." Minister Koca emphasized, "We will start vaccinations as soon as the trials are completed," and added, "We will succeed."

Turkey signed a contract to purchase 50 million doses of the vaccine from Sinovac. 20 million doses are scheduled to be supplied in December and January of next year. In addition to the Sinovac vaccine, the Turkish government plans to introduce up to 30 million doses of the vaccine jointly developed by the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer and the German company BioNTech.
