NHN Surpasses 3 Trillion KRW in Annual E-commerce Transactions in Asia Region
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] NHN's e-commerce annual transaction volume in the Asia region has surpassed 3 trillion won.
On the 29th, NHN Godo announced, "This year, the combined annual cumulative transaction volume of NHN Godo and NHN Acommate's e-commerce business grew by 50% compared to the previous year." Revenue and operating profit also recorded double-digit growth, approaching 200 billion won and 10 billion won respectively.
NHN Godo is an online shopping mall solution company that operates 'Shopby' and 'GodoMall5'. This year, it established NHN Godo Japan, its Japanese subsidiary, expanding its influence in Japan, and together with NHN Acommate, which operates e-commerce business based in China, it is leading NHN's commerce business.
The favorable conditions for NHN's e-commerce business this year are thanks to the global rapid growth of the online shopping market caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In the case of NHN Godo, it carried out the 'Golden Shield Project' to introduce a stable cloud infrastructure to its shopping mall solution, supporting smooth operation of large-scale events. Also, by launching 'Shopby Japan' in the Japanese market where the e-commerce market is expanding in earnest, it targeted the small business tailored market, which is evaluated as a growth factor.
NHN Acommate targeted the increased interest in domestic health functional foods in China due to COVID-19 and actively utilized live commerce to drive sales growth.
