Seoul Reports 301 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday... 2 Additional Deaths
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul continued to stay in the 300s per day.
As of midnight on the 28th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul increased by 301 from the previous day, bringing the total cumulative number of confirmed cases to 17,731.
The daily new confirmed cases in Seoul first exceeded 200 on the 2nd of this month, then surpassed 300 on the 11th, 400 on the 16th, and surged to 552 on the 24th. The numbers slightly decreased to 466 on the 25th, 362 on the 26th, and 301 on the 27th.
Among the new confirmed cases on this day, 11 were related to nursing hospitals and nursing homes in Guro-gu (cumulative 170), and 10 were related to residential facilities for the disabled in Songpa-gu (cumulative 50). Additionally, 4 new cases were linked to a church in Gangseo-gu (cumulative 241), 1 case related to a gathering of acquaintances in Gangdong-gu (cumulative 15), 1 case at a hospital in Nowon-gu (cumulative 30), and 1 case at a hospital in Songpa-gu (cumulative 21) were reported.
Other cases include 156 who had contact with confirmed patients, 16 who had contact with confirmed patients from other cities or provinces, 4 imported cases from overseas, and 95 cases with infection routes under investigation.
Two additional deaths were reported in Seoul the previous day, bringing the total number of deaths to 159.
So far, 9,611 patients have been declared recovered and discharged, while 7,961 are currently undergoing isolation treatment.
