KT Launches Seasonal Live Commerce 'Shopping Live'
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT is launching 'Shopping Live,' a live commerce platform on Seezn, becoming the first telecom OTT to offer such a service.
According to KT on the 27th, Seezn's Shopping Live is a vertical live commerce broadcast optimized for mobile. Users and sellers can communicate in real time, enabling purchasing and payment. It can be accessed through the banner on the Seezn home screen. If users want to purchase a product, they can simply click 'Buy' during the broadcast to be redirected immediately to the relevant site.
KT has partnered with Hyundai Home Shopping and GS Home Shopping to start the Shopping Live service. Content partnerships with T-commerce companies such as Shinsegae TV Shopping and KTH are also under discussion for 2021. Going forward, KT plans to collaborate with home shopping companies to co-produce commerce content and launch new products such as Seezn live performance content, aiming to strengthen the 'content + commerce' sector.
Additionally, KT plans to expand device distribution channels by partnering with Hyundai Home Shopping and device manufacturers to conduct new smartphone shopping live broadcasts. Furthermore, KT is preparing benefits such as 'Coco,' Seezn's payment method, KT bill payment options, and Coco point accumulation rewards.
Customers purchasing KT-home shopping collaboration products through Shopping Live can receive additional discounts. KT selects collaboration products with home shopping companies weekly and provides extra discount coupons. For example, during the Shopping Live event on the 30th at 6 PM with Hyundai Home Shopping and The Body Shop care set, a 7% discount coupon will be offered exclusively to Seezn customers.
To celebrate the launch of Shopping Live, KT will hold an event from the 28th until January 24th of next year, giving Coco points to all viewers. Watching Shopping Live for more than one minute during the period will earn 1,000 Coco points, and watching for more than 30 minutes will earn 5,000 Coco points.

Yoo Hyun-jung, Head of KT Labs Mobile Media Business P-TF (Executive Director), said, "Seezn Shopping Live aims to attract major domestic home shopping companies to provide customers with an easy and trustworthy commerce service. Next year, we will enhance personalized product recommendation functions based on KT's big data and strengthen the product lineup targeting the main Seezn users, the 2030 MZ generation."
