"Seomin of 'Joguk Heukseo' to Jin Joong-kwon, who announced SNS suspension: 'It's bleak without you... Please come back'"
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] After the court imprisonment of former Dongyang University professor Jeong Gyeong-sim, Seo Min, a professor at Dankook University College of Medicine and co-author of the 'Jo Guk Black Book,' appealed to former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon, who declared he would stop using SNS, saying, "Please come back."
On the 26th, Professor Seo wrote on his blog, "On the day Jeong Gyeong-sim was sentenced to four years, Jin Joong-kwon posted in the Jo Guk Black Book group chat, 'I felt reassured because you were there. Please fight hard instead of me,'" adding, "Jin Joong-kwon, the reconstruction of progressivism can be done after the regime change, so please come back."
He continued, "He had said such things before, but when he actually left, the future looked bleak," and said, "Especially since intellectuals I respected, such as Yoo Si-min and Hwang Seok-young, had all become subordinates of hypocrites, I cannot express how glad I was when he suddenly appeared and said they were fake."
He added, "On December 23, when Jeong Gyeong-sim was imprisoned, Jin Joong-kwon left SNS saying, 'My fight is over.' But is Jeong Gyeong-sim's imprisonment really the end?" and speculated, "Jo Guk, Moon Jae-in, and the many who defended Jo Guk are not admitting guilt but are instead blaming the judiciary and running amok. They are probably planning a large-scale counterattack, more vicious than before."
Professor Seo also mentioned the future plans that former Professor Jin had spoken about.
He said, "(Regarding Jin's future plans) he said, 'I will jump into the enemy camp. I will go to OhmyNews and start a difficult task there. Something somewhat theoretical...'" and added, "I still don't know exactly what that is, but I guess he is trying to create a proper foundation for progressivism. This is just a vague speculation."
He also said, "We (the co-authors of the Jo Guk Black Book) were closer to Jin Gong-ju and the four dwarfs than the so-called 'Eagle Five' known to the public," and expressed regret, "When Jin Joong-kwon said he would stop writing on SNS, my heart sank."
Meanwhile, former Minister of Justice Jo Guk's incident led progressive commentator former Professor Jin to continuously criticize the current government. Along with Professor Seo, lawyer Kwon Kyung-ae, accountant Kim Kyung-yul, and science journalist Kang Yang-gu, he co-authored the 'Jo Guk Black Book' (A Country Never Experienced Before).

Even afterward, through SNS and lectures, former Professor Jin continued to strongly criticize former Minister Jo and ruling party figures. However, on the 23rd, when Jo's wife, former Dongyang University professor Jeong Gyeong-sim, was sentenced to four years in prison and taken into custody, he declared the end of his fight and announced he would stop using SNS.
