Kuwait Also Begins COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign

According to Kuwait's KUNA news agency on the day, the COVID-19 vaccine being administered in Kuwait is a product jointly developed by the American pharmaceutical company Pfizer and the German company BioNTech, with priority given to the elderly and healthcare workers.
Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister of Kuwait, also received the COVID-19 vaccine on the same day.
He said, "The Pfizer and BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine is safe," and added, "It is a product approved by several international organizations," encouraging citizens to get vaccinated.
He further stated, "Vaccinations in Kuwait will be carried out over several months."
Earlier, Kuwait approved the emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine on the 13th.
According to the international statistics site 'Worldometer,' as of the 23rd, Kuwait, with a population of 4.27 million, has a cumulative total of 148,773 confirmed COVID-19 cases, of which 924 have died.
Middle Eastern countries have recently begun COVID-19 vaccinations.
Qatar started administering the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on the 23rd, while Saudi Arabia and Israel began vaccinations with the Pfizer vaccine on the 17th and 20th, respectively.
