Jeong Hyun-woong, Jeonnam Hampyeong County Council Member, Receives 'Local Legislative Service Award'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeong Hyun-ung, a member of the Hampyeong County Council in Jeollanam-do, received the ‘Legislative Service Award’ presented by the Jeonnam City and County Council Chairpersons Association.
According to the Hampyeong County Council on the 24th, the Legislative Service Award is given by the Jeonnam City and County Council Chairpersons Association to exemplary council members among the 22 city and county councils in Jeonnam Province who have dedicated themselves to COVID-19 prevention and overcoming damage caused by heavy rains, thereby enhancing the status of local councils.
Councilor Jeong served as the vice-chairman in the latter terms of the 3rd and 4th councils and as the chairman of the Economic Construction Committee in the first term of the 8th council. Through active legislative activities, he proposed various policies that residents could directly feel and took the lead in resolving their difficulties.
He also worked on improving systems closely related to residents’ lives by enacting ordinances such as the ordinance on the composition and operation of the Hampyeong County Child Welfare Deliberation Committee and Child Committee, and the ordinance on the promotion and support of forestry in Hampyeong County. He is recognized for leading efforts to create a happy Hampyeong for all residents through reasonable policy proposals and sincere remarks.
