Support of 300,000 KRW for New Middle and High School Students' Uniform Purchase in Gyeongnam Province
New Students or Transfer Students in 2021 Must Be Registered Residents in the Province as of March 2
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongnam Province announced on the 24th that it will provide 300,000 KRW each for school uniform purchase expenses to about 65,000 new middle and high school students entering next year.
Eligible recipients must have their resident registration in the province. Students transferring from other cities or provinces to schools located in the province must have resident registration in the province as of the transfer date.
To eliminate blind spots in uniform support, the province included not only new middle and high school students attending schools located in other cities or provinces but registered in the province, but also students of authorized and unauthorized alternative education institutions, as well as foreign-registered students.
Eligible students should purchase uniforms according to each school's guidance and apply through their respective schools. Students residing outside the region should apply individually at their local eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare center.
This project was promoted by Governor Kim Kyung-soo as part of free education to realize universal educational welfare by strengthening the public nature of education.
