Prime Minister Jeong Holds 30th Thursday Dialogue... Donates Salvation Army Fundraising Money
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun held the 30th Thursday Dialogue at the Salvation Army Hall in Jeong-dong, Seoul, starting at 5 p.m. on the 24th, and donated funds with the attendees, the Prime Minister's Office announced.
The Thursday Dialogue was held to encourage the spread of sharing and donation culture in celebration of Christmas and to provide comfort to the people exhausted by the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Broadcaster Noh Sa-yeon shared stories about supporting children with pediatric cancer and activities supporting multicultural families, baseball commentator Yang Joon-hyuk talked about running a charity baseball school for multicultural children, and musical actress Park In-young shared her experiences of volunteer work at home and abroad.
From the corporate sector, KB Kookmin Bank and Lotte Group attended and shared stories about disaster relief activities and support for children in developing countries.
Prime Minister Chung emphasized, "The underprivileged neighbors around us are going through an unusually long and cold winter now," adding, "It is a time when warm hands of love, sharing, and consideration from all of us are more desperately needed than ever."
