Adaptation of Turgenev's Novel 'First Love', Original Musical 'Bulgeun Jeongwon' Revived After 3 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] The original musical "Red Garden," adapted from Russian novelist Ivan Turgenev's novel "First Love," will open on February 5 next year at Uniplex Theater 2 in Daehangno.
"Red Garden" premiered in 2018 and is being restaged after three years.
Actors Jung Sang-yoon and Lee Jung-hwa will reprise their roles as Viktor and Gina, respectively, from the original production.
Alongside Jung Sang-yoon, Park Eun-seok and Kim Soon-taek will portray the rational and courteous writer Viktor.
The role of Gina, a confident and proud woman with fatal charm, will be played by Lee Jung-hwa, Choi Mi-so, and Jeon Hae-joo. Jeon Hae-joo was selected through an open audition with a 200:1 competition ratio.
The role of the boy "Ivan," who begins to feel the joy and pain of love through first love, will be played by Jo Hyun-woo, Kwak Da-in, and Jung Ji-woo.
