One COVID-19 Case Confirmed at Hwasun Nursing Hospital... Jeonnam Patient No. 528
[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 24th that one additional COVID-19 case was confirmed at A Nursing Hospital, which is under cohort isolation.
The county conducted the 9th diagnostic test on patients and others at A Nursing Hospital under cohort isolation the previous day, resulting in one patient testing positive.
This confirmed case, classified as Jeonnam case number 528, showed no suspected COVID-19 symptoms before testing.
Upon notification of the positive result, the county immediately isolated the confirmed patient and requested bed allocation from Jeonnam Province.
As of today, there have been 16 confirmed cases at A Nursing Hospital. Among them, 4 are medical staff including nurses, and 12 are patients.
Since the 13th, the county has placed three wards of A Nursing Hospital under cohort isolation and is working to prevent further infections through close monitoring of isolated individuals, managing medical staff movement, and dispersing densely packed beds.
The county shortened the testing cycle and conducted mass testing nine times from the 13th to the previous day, covering a cumulative total of 915 people.
Additionally, the county is analyzing the trend and pattern of confirmed cases at A Nursing Hospital to respond promptly according to the situation, and has supported the hospital by providing nine medical personnel to compensate for the shortage of medical staff.

A county official stated, “We are taking measures such as redistributing beds and strengthening symptom monitoring based on analysis of the chain infection pattern after cohort isolation, facility risk levels, and the rooms where confirmed cases occurred,” adding, “We will do our best to prevent the hospital chain infection from spreading to the local community.”
