On the 23rd, in Gyeongbuk Province, as secondary infections continued in nine other cities and counties, a total of 50 new local infection cases were confirmed.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 24th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area was 2,127 (including 109 imported cases), which is 50 more than the previous day.
The new confirmed cases by region are 30 in Gumi, 6 in Gyeongju, 3 each in Andong and Gimcheon, 2 each in Yeongcheon and Gyeongsan, and 1 each in Pohang, Sangju, Uiseong, and Cheongsong.
Among the 30 new confirmed cases in Gumi City, 25 are church members and their families related to Songjeong Church. Another 3 are students and their families who underwent pre-admission testing for school dormitories. The remaining 2 have unidentified infection routes.
At Songjeong Church in Gumi City, after a confirmed case (Gumi No. 132) occurred on the 20th, 3 more cases were confirmed the next day, and 4 on the 22nd. Including these, the total number of confirmed cases related to this church has risen to 33.
Among the new confirmed cases in Gyeongju City, 3 are related to Seonggwang Church in Gyeongju. The other 3 are contacts of previous confirmed cases (including Gyeongju No. 180). Since the confirmed case of a music student (No. 102) on October 28, a total of 85 related cases have been confirmed, raising concerns about a chain infection.
Among the 3 new confirmed cases in Andong City, 2 are contacts of confirmed cases related to Okdong Church in Andong (Andong Nos. 99 and 105). The remaining 1 has an unidentified infection route.
Among the 3 new confirmed cases in Gimcheon City, 2 are contacts of a previous confirmed case (Gimcheon No. 77). One has an unidentified infection route.
The 2 new confirmed cases in Yeongcheon City have unidentified infection routes. Among the 2 new confirmed cases in Gyeongsan City, 1 is a contact of a previous confirmed case (Gyeongsan No. 748), and 1 is a contact of a confirmed case related to Daegu Gwangjin Church.
In Pohang City, Sangju City, Uiseong County, and Cheongsong County, one resident each who had contact with previous confirmed cases was confirmed positive. Notably, in Uiseong County, the confirmed case is related to Yeongju Church.
In Gyeongsangbuk-do, 264 people (excluding imported cases) were confirmed in various local areas over the past week, recording a weekly daily average of 37.7 confirmed cases.

Meanwhile, in Gyeongbuk, after the highest daily confirmed cases of 122 on March 6, the number dropped to 31 on March 8. However, after showing the same daily confirmed cases of 31 on December 17, the number surged to 59 on the 21st, showing no signs of slowing down the spread.
