[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Sangju City in Gyeongbuk announced on the 24th that it will temporarily close the downtown 5-day markets starting from the 27th to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The targets are two markets: Jungang Market and Pungmul Market. Only street vendors are prohibited from operating, and store shops will remain open. The closure period will last until January 2nd of next year.
Previously, Sangju City designated a consignment management company to conduct regular disinfection activities, and the market merchants' association has also been carrying out disinfection activities independently. In addition, they are making every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection by hanging banners with COVID-19 prevention guidelines, providing hand sanitizers, and enforcing mask-wearing.
