Shinhan Life Insurance to Launch Healthcare Service 'Howfit' at the End of This Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Shinhan Life Insurance announced on the 24th that it has registered health management services for the general public as an ancillary business, becoming the first domestic insurance company to do so. This move follows the financial authorities' announcement on the 17th to promote the activation of the healthcare industry within the insurance sector.
Through this ancillary business registration, Shinhan Life aims to contribute to health promotion activities for users, including non-policyholders, and to collect activity information data to provide beneficial services to customers.
Shinhan Life plans to launch the digital healthcare platform ‘Howfit’ by the end of this month, offering differentiated services such as AI home training services to the general public, including non-policyholders, beyond the existing health management services provided by insurance companies.
Howfit, the revenue-sharing healthcare platform first introduced by Shinhan Life in the industry, was developed as a joint project from the planning stage through design, development, and activation with a startup possessing AI technology. The distinct feature of Howfit is that AI recognizes movements and provides exercise coaching to users using only a mobile device, without wearable equipment, through real-time lectures conducted by famous influencers on YouTube and Instagram.
