[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] 'Young gun' Im Sung-jae (22, CJ Logistics) has been selected as a promising player for next year's PGA Tour.
The PGA Tour's official website announced on the 23rd (Korean time) the "Top 10 players under 25 to watch in 2021," placing him fourth. It explained, "Im Sung-jae's choice to find a home in Atlanta, where the Tour Championship is held every year, is a perfect residential choice." It added, "Although he faced some difficulties due to the COVID-19 outbreak in March, he achieved a valuable result by finishing runner-up at the Masters."
Im Sung-jae was last year's PGA Tour Rookie of the Year. He secured his card as the Korn Ferry Tour (second-tier) money leader in 2018 and was the only rookie to advance to the Tour Championship, the final third playoff event. He earned his first victory at the Honda Classic in March, made a strong impression on the major stage with a 22nd place at the US Open in September and a tie for 2nd at the Masters in November. On the 13th, he finished tied for 14th at the DP World Tour Championship, the final event of the 2020 European Tour season.

Colin Morikawa (USA), who won this year's major PGA Championship, was ranked first. Victor Hovland (Norway), the 'Puerto Rico Open champ,' and Matthew Wolff (USA), famous for his 'twist swing,' were ranked second and third respectively. Other promising players under 25 selected include 2019/2020 Rookie of the Year Scottie Scheffler (USA), Joaqu?n Niemann (Chile), Will Zalatoris, Aaron Wise, Sam Burns, and Doc Redman (all USA).
