[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] The Gwangyang City Children's Care Foundation (Chairman Hwang Jae-woo) is receiving a continuous stream of warm child-loving donations from directors of national and public daycare centers.
The Children's Care Foundation announced that it held a donation ceremony yesterday attended by Gwangyang Mayor Jeong Hyun-bok, Chairman Hwang Jae-woo of the Care Foundation, and about 10 donors.
At the ceremony, Kyungseon Daycare Center (Director Kim Sun-duk), Daeun Daycare Center (Director Kim Jae-yeon), Saetbyeol Daycare Center (Director Kwon Gwi-sook), Jayeon Daycare Center (Director So Se-eun), Pureun Daycare Center (Director Han Ok-kyung), and Haneulkkum Daycare Center (Director Park Young-mi) each donated 350,000 won, totaling 2.1 million won.
The six daycare centers?Kyungseon, Daeun, Saetbyeol, Jayeon, Pureun, and Haneulkkum?which converted from private to national and public daycare centers last December, expressed during the donation, "At this time when low birthrate is emerging as a social issue in our country, Gwangyang is proud to be a leading city in child care, having received the Presidential Institutional Award for government awards in the childcare sector this year, leading the realization of a happy city that is good for raising children." They added, "Please continue to carry out better childcare projects for our children."
Gwangyang Mayor Jeong Hyun-bok said, "I am grateful for the warm support of the directors who work hard on the front lines of infant and toddler care," and added, "We will continue to actively listen to the voices of the directors and do our best to lead efforts to resolve childcare blind spots."
