Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to Open 'Apartment BIM Support Center' on the 23rd
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) will open the 'Apartment BIM Support Center' on the 23rd and hold the '2020 Architecture BIM Awards' ceremony to support the digitalization of the construction industry.
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a three-dimensional modeling technology that integrates and manages information throughout the entire lifecycle, including materials, processes, construction costs, and prices.
This event will be broadcast live online through a YouTube channel to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The Apartment BIM Support Center will provide year-round BIM education (about 1,000 sessions) starting next year for design and construction companies participating in LH apartment projects, and will carry out various support activities such as BIM consulting and free database access for small and medium-sized design and construction companies lacking a BIM promotion foundation.
In the future, the center plans to expand educational opportunities for newcomers to society and re-employed individuals, striving to cultivate BIM talent and broaden its base.
Meanwhile, the 2020 Architecture BIM Awards, held for the first time this year, were organized to select excellent cases of BIM utilization, share BIM-related technologies and achievements, and promote the activation of BIM in the architectural field.
Among BIM-utilizing companies participating in LH public district projects, awards were selected in the design and construction categories, with grand prizes (Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award) and excellence awards (LH President Award) for each category.
In the design category, DA Group Engineering Comprehensive Architecture Office Co., Ltd. received the grand prize for the Yangsan Sasong A1 Block public project, recognized for high evaluation in BIM environment construction, dissemination activities, and design and design utilization levels, while Haean Comprehensive Architecture Office Co., Ltd. received the excellence award for the Yangju Hoecheon A17 Block public project.
In the construction category, GS Construction Co., Ltd. received the grand prize for the Siheung Eungye S4 Block public project, highly evaluated for design coordination review, construction planning and measurement, and utilization of processes and quantities, while Gyeryong Construction Industry Co., Ltd. received the excellence award for the Uijeongbu Gosan S3 Block public project.
The grand prize-winning companies will be awarded the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award certificate and a prize of 3 million won, and will receive additional evaluation points when participating in future design competitions and construction responsibility-type CM bids.
