Yangsan City Creates a City Where Youth Can Settle Down
Establishing a Basic Youth Plan and Implementing Various Policies Including the Creation of Youth Centers
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 21st that it has finalized the ‘Yangsan City Youth Basic Plan (2021~2025)’ and will actively implement it starting next year to establish a foundation where youth can participate as the main agents in policy promotion.
According to the Youth Basic Plan, 200 billion KRW will be intensively invested over five years in the three main strategies of ‘Youth Independence, Living, and Participation’ projects.
Among the major projects, the youth work experience project aims to help youth in their future social activities and career decisions based on direct experience in various fields, while supporting labor costs for small business owners and companies so that youth and the local economy can achieve a win-win. In addition, various policies such as interview suit rental services and monthly rent support projects will be promoted.
Specifically, there is the Youth Center establishment project. The Youth Center will serve as a hub space for youth, offering various skill development programs for youth independence and club/study activities based on autonomous gatherings. To ensure smooth project progress, the city secured 250 million KRW in provincial funds by applying for the Gyeongnam Province Youth Hub establishment project. The city plans to remodel 304㎡ on the first floor of the Integrated Control Center by the second half of next year to create the Youth Center.
Furthermore, through the ‘Youth Center establishment project,’ various skill development programs and autonomous gathering spaces will be created to support youth independence.
