Daewon C.I. Expands Digital Content Business... Utilizing Domestic Characters
[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Boryeong] Daewon C.I. is expanding its digital content business utilizing domestic characters.
Daewon C.I., a subsidiary of Daewon Media, announced on the 21st that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 27th of last month with domestic character original creators such as Grime, Winops, and P&I Company.
Grime is the original creator of the theatrical feature animation "Geoshin Daejeon" scheduled to be released next year, Winops is the original creator of the fantasy character "Hwansangsup Gotjawal," set against the pristine nature of Jeju, and P&I Company is the original creator of the character "Kkoma Nongbu Ravi," inspired by various plants.
Through this MOU, Daewon C.I. secured domestic intellectual property (IP) with high business potential for digitalization. Next year, the company plans to introduce various new contents under the children's brand "Daewon Kids."
The digital content utilizing the new IP will also be launched in the global market. In the case of Geoshin Daejeon, discussions and reviews are underway for producing a new version of the webtoon based on global business.
Along with this, Daewon C.I. will also develop various series publications such as storybooks, picture books, and plant encyclopedias based on its popular characters.
