Gwangju Buk-gu Awards 147 Million Won in Scholarships to 153 Students
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Moon In) and the Gwangju Buk-gu Scholarship Foundation (Chairman Heo Jeong) announced on the 21st that a total of 147 million KRW was awarded as scholarships in 2020.
Earlier, Buk-gu selected a total of 153 scholarship students this year, including 73 academic excellence scholarship students, 59 low-income scholarship students, 2 special talent scholarship students, and 19 special scholarship students for multicultural families, multiple children, volunteer work, good deeds, and filial piety.
In particular, they provided an opportunity for out-of-school youth, who had been in educational blind spots, to be selected as scholarship students, allowing any youth nurturing their dreams to be chosen as scholarship recipients.
The scholarship certificate awarding ceremony was held in a non-face-to-face manner by sending the certificates to the students' homes to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of the students. The scholarship students expressed their gratitude by sending photos taken with the scholarship certificates.
