Hamyang-gun Agricultural Technology Center, Accelerates Implementation of 2021 Agricultural Policies
Proactive Administration Including Livestock Epidemic Prevention and Operation of Agricultural Technology Support Team
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Agricultural Technology Center of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, announced on the 21st its review of the achievements of the year 2020 and its business promotion plan for 2021.
The center allocated a budget of 46.6 billion KRW this year and achieved significant results in about 10 new projects including the operation of farming technology support, as well as five key (special) policies such as the vacant house remodeling project to attract returnees to farming.
The main achievement was establishing a clean Hamyang image through thorough quarantine this year, preventing livestock infectious diseases and COVID-19 in advance.
By operating the farming technology support team to solve difficulties in the farming field, it achieved the great success of being selected as the best agricultural technology center in the Gyeongnam Province rural development project evaluation.
In addition, the restructured public payment project starting this year minimized confusion among farmers through active promotion and education, contributing to increased farm income.
The center plans to complete in 2021 projects such as the modernization of the livestock auction market and the creation of small-scale livestock complexes, which are county head’s pledge projects, after further promotion and gathering more opinions from residents due to difficulties in securing sites.
The 2021 budget increased by about 8 billion KRW from the previous year to approximately 54.8 billion KRW, with the increase due to the rise in the restructured public payment this year.
Lee Gyu-bong, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, “I thank the staff who worked hard throughout the year and ask them to do their best to achieve good results next year as well.”
