Gwangju Injawee Selected as Nationwide Best 'S Grade' in Work-Learning Parallel Program
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] The Gwangju Human Resources Development Committee (Gwangju Inja-wi) Work-Learning Specialized Support Center announced on the 18th that it received the highest 'S grade' in the 2020 Work-Learning Specialized Support Center performance evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and implemented by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
Gwangju Inja-wi, operated by the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is co-chaired by Choi Jong-man, full-time vice chairman of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce, and Jo In-cheol, head of the Culture and Economy Department of Gwangju Metropolitan City.
This evaluation was comprehensively conducted through qualitative and quantitative assessments based on business execution capabilities, business performance, organizational capabilities, and promotional efforts targeting 13 regional specialized support centers nationwide that support the work-learning dual system project.
The Gwangju Inja-wi Work-Learning Specialized Support Center received a score exceeding the S grade threshold of 90 points in the final evaluation results, and scored highly in detailed evaluation indicators such as discovering participating companies at the enrollment and employment stages, discovering excellent companies, region-specific promotion, and collaboration in business execution.
Choi Jong-man, chairman of Gwangju Inja-wi, said, "Despite the difficult conditions due to COVID-19, we will communicate with participating companies and related organizations to activate the work-learning dual system and support the successful implementation of the project next year."

The work-learning dual system is an education and training system designed to fit the Korean context based on work-based learning, which is spreading worldwide such as the German apprenticeship system and the Australian and British traineeship systems. As of July this year, a total of 15,984 companies and 98,303 workers have participated in the work-learning dual system.
