On the 18th, KOTRA announced that it conducted a 'Digital Factory Inspection' service by visiting the factory of gas detector company G in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province on the 17th. The Digital Factory Inspection service is a newly launched export support service by KOTRA. Through this service, overseas buyers can review domestic companies' factories and production facilities via online real-time streaming.
G is a small and medium-sized enterprise that developed the world's first interference gas filtering gas detector. Its export volume rapidly grew from 1.8 million USD in 2017 to 10 million USD last year, but this year it faced difficulties in securing new contracts due to COVID-19.
Due to the nature of safety equipment products, overseas buyers are required to visit factories to verify production processes and quality control systems for contracts. G faced difficulties when on-site inspections became impossible due to COVID-19 while trying to supply major Japanese thermal power plants. G turned to KOTRA and finally found a breakthrough through the 'Digital Factory Inspection' service.
